Bentley Wood High School for Girls, Clamp Hill, Stanmore, Middlesex HA7 3JW

We are seeking a Specialist Mobility Teaching Assistant to work with our Head of Inclusion and our qualified nurse to improve the educational outcomes of our most vulnerable students who have challenging medical needs, physical, mental or emotional. This will involve a focus on targeted students who are underachieving with a variety of intervention strategies that make an impact.

This role entails carrying out physiotherapist directed activities with the student, lifting and mobilising students and supporting students in the classroom with their learning. It also includes covering the medical room for an hour on a daily basis and supporting our School Nurse as and when required.

A trained First Aider is preferable, however we are willing to provide training.

A recruitment and retention allowance (R&R) will be considered for an exceptional candidate.

You will be a member of our Innovations and Inclusion team. For candidates interested in teaching we run a pre-ITT training delivered as twilights throughout the year.

Bentley Wood High had a phenomenal 0.9 progress 8 score in 2018 this continues to build on an exceptional progress 8 scores over the past 3 years. Students achieved 76% grades 9-4 in both English & mathematics. The achievement grade 4 or above in E-Bacc at 54% is significantly higher than schools nationally. Many subjects achieved strong GCSE results with a high proportion of students achieving grades 9-7. All 6th Form students study and complete 4 AS courses in Year 12 and 3 A Levels in Year 13. Bentley Wood Sixth Form maintains an ALPS T- score in the top 10% of schools across all subjects at both AS and A Level.
