Operations Manager – Harrow and Brent - G11 HAR-008330

Located 10 miles from the city centre and just 13 minutes to Euston from Harrow & Wealdstone station there are great transport links via the Metropolitan Line, Watford DC Line and national rail service. It is easily accessible to the M1, M25 and A406.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Manager to manage the safe and efficient transportation of children and adults with special education and social needs to and from home to school and designated centres across the Harrow and Brent areas.

Reporting into the Transport Contracts Manager the post holder will manage the safe and efficient transportation of children and adults with special education and social needs to and from home to school and designated centres.

The post holder will monitor and evaluate all contractors and their staff to ensure they meet the necessary standard to fulfil their responsibilities when transporting the passengers, including meeting the requirements specified in the hired passenger transport framework, agency and the managed workforce contracts.

The post holder will supervise the work of staff allocation, attendance, absence, training, appraisals and daily issues relaying senior management instructions as directed and be responsible for the deployment of all staff and resources to ensure service standards are achieved.

In addition, the post holder will lead on the implementation of service improvements including the roll out of new technology to improve safeguarding.

The post holder will work early shifts that start at 7am and finish at 3 pm and will cover emergency out of hours on call on a rota basis to be part of the on-call duty manager rota for work out of hours, supporting the service and be available as part of the Council’s wider emergency rota team.
